Medical Service
Medical Service on Board
On board all Norwegian Cruise Line ships, there is a doctor and a nurse. Nearly all common medication is available on board and can be prescribed. Treatments are made in accordance with the usual fees charged. The medical equipment on board is limited and can only provide basic care. In case of serious illness, a return of the patients at their own expense may be necessary. Therefore, it is generally advisable to check the health insurance before starting the trip. Please note that our ships do not have a dialysis center.
Pregnancy
If the trip is terminated up to the beginning of the 24th week of pregnancy and a medical certificate in English with the birth date and a description about the ability to travel can be submitted, then a cruise during the pregnancy is possible. Norwegian Cruise Line is not liable for any pregnancy complications that occur during the cruise.
Due to unpredictable circumstances at sea, Norwegian Cruise Line must reserve the right to refuse or revoke passage to anyone who, based upon objective standards, is in a physical or mental condition that jeopardizes the safe operation of the vessel, who poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others or who may require care beyond Norwegian’s possibilities.
